This season has seen Manchester City’s Norwegian starlet Oscar Bobb make his mark in his first full season with the Manchester City first team. Across his appearances for the champions this season, Oscar Bobb has shown his undoubted quality and ability. It is clear that the champions have another potential jewel on their hands. But will City’s Norwegian starlet have a more prominent role to play next season? The early signs appear to be yes, according to a recent report.

Michael Plant has reported for Manchester World that Manchester City has no plans to let Oscar Bobb leave the club this summer in any capacity. Furthermore, Plant reports that the champions plan to give Bobb time to develop his game amongst Manchester City’s world-class squad.

It comes as no surprise to see that Manchester City has no plans to see Bobb leave the club in any capacity. The Norwegian starlet has made an immediate impact since breaking into City’s first team. Across 25 appearances, he has added 2 goals and 2 assists as he has shown his quality when given the opportunity. While this season has been primarily a learning experience for Bobb, it is clear that he has the potential to become a vital contributor for Manchester City in seasons to come.

Bobb’s impressive debut season with City’s first team saw him rewarded with a contract extension. The Norwegian international signed a fresh contract with the champions until 2029. It is clear how highly regarded he is at Manchester City, given that the champions have extended his contract.

If Bobb builds on his displays this season over the upcoming pre season, it is clear that he will have a more prominent role in Pep Guardiola’s squad. The opportunity is there if Bobb can seize it, which seems a given based on his performances this season. While there will be competition for spots in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven, it isn’t out of the realms of possibility that Bobb can force his way Guardiola’s starting eleven next season.
