For Miami Dolphins fans living in West or Central Florida hoping to see their team play in person this season, it appears you might be in luck.
According to Fox Sports' Greg Auman, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have submitted for league approval a request to hold joint practices together with the Miami Dolphins for a preseason game this upcoming season in Tampa.
Bucs are hoping to have two sessions of joint practices before preseason games in August -- home vs. Dolphins, away at Jaguars -- and are awaiting formal approval from the league.

The game between Dolphins and Buccaneers, as well as the joint practices, will have to be approved by the league. While teams are allowed to provide input as far as who they would like to face in the preseason, the schedule is ultimately decided on by the league.
However, there's no reason to believe that won't get passed. Intrastate and regional matchups are commonplace in the preseason, for travel/cost purposes and overlapping interests among regional teams.
The Dolphins and Buccaneers have regularly squared off over the years during the preseason. The teams have faced off five times over the last ten preseasons. The last matchup was on August 13, 2022 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. The Dolphins won 26-24.
The regular season NFL schedule will be released in early May, with the preseason slate typically coming out shortly after that.
