Former LSU teammates have a big-money NFL Rookie of the Year bet

Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers know each other very well from their time as quarterback and wide receiver, respectively, for LSU.

Once teammates, they're now NFC East divisional rivals. Daniels was taken No. 2 overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft, while Nabers was taken just a few picks later at No. 6 by the New York Giants.

They're guaranteed to play each other at least twice a year and those matchups are going to be must-see TV. Both players have to juice to be absolute game changers for their teams offensively, but are either good enough to win the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award?

Both players are extremely confident in their own ability. So much so that it was revealed that they have a friendly wager between each other regarding the award.

"Man, he wasn't supposed to tell nobody," Daniels laughed and said when on the "All Facts No Breaks" podcast with Keyshawn Johnson. "We got a little something going on."

When pressed, Daniels revealed that there's $10,000 on the line.

If there was a favorite between the two, one has to imagine that Daniels has the better shot to win the ROY award as a quarterback. That said, Nabers is extremely explosive as a wideout.

Daniels threw for 3,821 yards and 40 touchdowns with just four interceptions last season for LSU while rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. He won the Heisman Trophy for his efforts.

Nabers caught 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023, averaging 17.6 yards per catch.
