The WVU basketball staff is starting off another week with another offer to a high school prospect. West Virginia offered 2025 recruit New York product Mason Blackwood on Sunday.
Blackwood thanked WVU head coach Darian DeVries while announcing the offer on X (Twitter). A 6-foot-7 guard, Blackwood attends New Hampton High School in Rochester.

Blackwood’s offer came after he averaged 13.5 points per game at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball Session III in Indianapolis, In. over the weekend. While he’s currently ranked as a three-star player by most national recruiting outlets, ESPN has awarded him four stars.
Northwestern also sent Blackwood an offer on Sunday. Blackwood also has offers on the table from Boston College, Buffalo, George Washington, George Mason, Marquette and Sienna among others.
